Red Crescent: Help is urgently needed, as just 10% of the needed aid reaches Gaza.

The spokesperson for the Palestine Red Crescent Society, Nabil Faresk, recently revealed to Al Jazeera that only ten percent of the necessary supplies is making it to Gaza. Faresk underlined that choosing the lesser of two evils is now a requirement for being a Palestinian.

He said that because of Israeli military shelling, people in Gaza are constantly fighting for safety and basic needs like food and water, often turning to temporary shelters. According to Faresk, thousands of Palestinians who have fled to Palestine Red Crescent, including those who were in Khan Yunis yesterday, are currently making their way to Rafah, while thousands more are still living there. There isn’t a secure place.”

He emphasized the Palestinians’ ceaseless efforts to flee Israeli soldiers and the everyday battle they have to survive if they manage to avoid Israeli bombardment.

Faresk called for more international aid to be provided to alleviate the humanitarian situation that is occurring in Gaza. The bulk of the population struggles to obtain safe housing, food, and water, making the situation critical. The spokesperson urged the international community to take immediate action and offer the required assistance to lessen the suffering of the Gaza population.

Help is desperately needed as the Palestinian territories continue to suffer from the effects of the conflict. The disclosure by the Red Crescent underscores the necessity of swift and all-encompassing international engagement to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
